A law graduate from the Université de Sherbrooke, Valéry Gauthier also holds a graduate degree in Common Law and Transnational Law (J.D.). Throughout her university career, she has been involved in student life, particularly in the Association générale des étudiant en droit de l’Université de Sherbrooke. She has also taught the Documentary Research 1 Course for two consecutive years.

She completed her training for the Bar with her articling at Cain Lamarre in 2018 where she quickly joined the municipal law and environment team.
