Mathieu Fournier has been practicing labor and employment law for more than 12 years. He counsels and represents employers and employer associations on group and individual labor relations, minimum labor standards, workplace accidents and occupational diseases, occupational health and safety, human rights, and administrative law. He handles collective bargaining on behalf of employers and employer associations throughout Québec and frequently represents clients in court and before administrative tribunals.

Mathieu also practices in sports law, representing sports leagues and organizations in particular. He has been involved in the salary arbitration process and has published a number of articles and given talks on labor relations as part of the National Hockey League's activities.

He has particular expertise in early childhood issues, having acted as legal counsel and attorney for a number of daycare centers (CPEs) and coordinating offices for family daycare centers in Québec.
