Luis Baz obtained a law degree from Université Laval (LL.B.) and has been a member of the Barreau du Québec since 1996. He practises business law, primarily in business transfers, corporate financing, contract negotiations, and corporate reorganization.

In the past, he was a lecturer at Cégep Garneau in the international commerce diploma program, where he taught international market entry. He also taught the Introduction to Oral and Written Pleadings undergraduate course at Université Laval.

He has participated in the drafting of several legal documents, including the first edition of Précis de procédure civile and the Petit guide de rédaction du mémoire d’appel. He has organized and given numerous lectures in business law and law informatics. His practice has led him to participate on several executive boards, notably the provisional executive board for the creation of the new Quebec lawyers’ association, the APAAQ (Association professionnelle des avocates et avocats du Québec).

His practice has led him to advise his clientele on the steps and challenges a company goes through. He has represented several cities, governmental agencies, and businesses on regional, national, and international issues.

Baz worked at our Roberval office in the early 2000s. Here is what he had to say about his return to our firm: “It feels good to be coming home!”
