Katheryne Desfossés, a Drummondvillle native, has been a member of the Québec Bar for 14 years. Prior to joining Cain Lamarre in 2011, she spent seven years practicing in civil, commercial insurance litigation with a Montréal firm and served at the Tax Court of Canada in Ottawa. From the beginning, her practice has included a wide range of assignments that have brought her to represent clients before the Court of Québec, the Superior Court of Québec, the Court of Appeal of Québec, and the Supreme Court of Canada. She has also exhibited her talents as a practitioner in diverse fields of civil law.

Katheryne has taught law of obligations at the law faculty of Université de Sherbrooke since 2007 and at the Québec Bar School in Sherbrooke since 2009. She is also the author of a fascicle on the performance of obligation, three volumes on the performance of obligation, the transfer of obligations, and the extinction and restitution of prestations, and two articles on recent civil law decisions in Québec.
