Expertise: business law

Jean-Didier Bussières practises business and commercial law. He has developed a transactional practice focused on the sale and purchase of businesses, business succession and growth, the integration of key employees, business start-ups, venture capital, and corporate financing. He acts on behalf of a diverse clientele, mainly composed of companies in manufacturing, technology and services, sports, media and communications, retail and distribution, and construction and infrastructure.

 

He works with SMEs in the drafting and negotiation of shareholder, commercial, and technological agreements as well as corporate planning and reorganization. He advises family businesses, private companies, start-ups, and investors on investment and governance issues.

 

As part of his practice, Mr. Bussières has been involved in various transactions in Québec and elsewhere in Canada, including initial public offerings, private investments, institutional venture capital, and the creation of trusts. He has also served as corporate secretary of a publicly traded company, advising it on organizational and governance matters.
