Derrek Giroux-Lacasse earned his civil law degree from the University of Ottawa in 2014 and was called to the Québec Bar in 2016. Before studying law, he earned a degree in rehabilitation and penal justice techniques. He primarily practices family and personal law.

He was thrilled to return to his home region of Abitibi when he joined the Cain Lamarre team in Amos as a lawyer in 2016 after articling there.
