A law graduate of Université Laval in 1978, Mr. André Tremblay practiced for 25 years as an attorney specializing in labour law and administrative law. From 2004 to 2010, he joined the management of Produits forestiers Saguenay Inc., a company operating four sawmills in his native Saguenay region. From 2011 to September 2017, he held the position of President/CEO and spokesperson for the Conseil de l’Industrie Forestière du Québec, which represents the interests of businesses in the sawmills, hardwoods, pulp and paper, cardboard and panels industry. Its mandate consisted, specifically, of highlighting the forest industry's contribution to Québec's economic development and demonstrating, through its responsible practices, that it has sustainable forest management at heart.
