A past president of the Québec Bar, André Gauthier, Ad. E., has been practicing law since 1970. He began his career as a litigator, arguing cases before the various levels of courts, including the Supreme Court of Canada, notably on constitutional matters for business and institutional clients. With his well-established reputation in the legal community, he is often called on to represent judges and lawyers and promote or defend their rights.

He counsels a number of professional bodies, First Nations, and corporations. His legal prowess has been saluted by Québec’s professional community as a whole through its Mérite Interprofessionnel du Québec award and by his peers, who in 2007 named him Advocatus Emeritus and in 2006 bestowed upon him the Médaille du Barreau, the highest distinction a Québec lawyer can earn.
